505th CCW welcomes new honorary commanders

10/23/2012 - HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. -- Seven new honorary commanders joined the 505th Command and Control Wing Oct. 13 as part of Hurlburt Field's 2012-2013 Honorary Commanders Program.

The day began with introductions and a mission briefing at the wing's headquarters. Col. Mustafa Koprucu, commander of 505th CCW, Col. David Gaedecke, vice commander of 505th CCW, Chief Master Sgt. Richard Turcotte, command chief of 505th CCW, one group and five squadron commanders and key staff welcomed the civic leaders.

"The Honorary Commander's Program is a unique and important aspect of our military and the community partners with whom we live," Koprucu said. "It allows our community partners to gain awareness of our important military mission, and it allows our military members and their units to learn more about the communities that provide us with such vital support and infrastructure. I am incredibly happy to welcome our Honorary Commanders class of 2012."

The 505th CCW 2012-2013 Honorary Commanders are:
  • Lt. Michael Card, Okaloosa County Sheriff, Commander Special Investigations (505th CCW)
  • Rob Williamson, Owner/CEO of Trees Plus (505th Training Group)
  • Linda Parker, Legal Secretary (705th Training Squadron)
  • Dr. Eleanor McCain, Physician (505th Communication Squadron)
  • Justin Tate, Private Wealth Management Financial Planner (605th Test and Evaluation Squadron)
  • Bobby Griggs, Fort Walton Beach Councilman (505th Training Squadron)
  • Dr. Judy Manning, Director of Operations of Children in Crisis (505th Combat Training Squadron)
The 505th CCW annually trains more than 85,000 Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and coalition forces. The wing's Airmen, through a multi-disciplinary approach, provide training and tactics, techniques and procedures development for Component Number Air Force headquarters; testing and training of key command and control and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems; and comprehensive, realistic, cutting-edge operational and tactical-level live, virtual and constructive exercises for joint and coalition forces.
