Why did you join the Air Force?
I joined the Air Force for the experience, security and to travel and see the world.

How does your Air Force specialty contribute to the mission?
As an Air Force medic, we take care of active duty, reserve, retired military and their families. Whether they visit the family health, ambulance services, pediatrics, flight medicine, deployment cell or periodic health assessments in the clinic, we work to keep them healthy.

If you were Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force for one day, how would you change the Air Force?
I would implement more Stripes for Exceptional Performers promotions for people who work hard and deserve it.

What's your favorite thing about Hurlburt Field?
Being a part of the Air Force Special Operations Command and close to the beach.

What do you like most about being an Airman?
How we take care of our own, and the pride to wear the uniform.

What's one thing you wish you were told before joining the Air Force?
I've always been around military growing up, so I knew what I was getting myself into.

What motivates you at work?
My co-workers.

Who are your heroes/role models?
People who sacrifice their time to give back to the community like volunteers, the Peace Corps, etc.

Advice to others?
Keep a positive attitude.

Why was he selected?
"Airman Speakman was recently selected as the 1st SOMDOS Airman of the Quarter for his outstanding work ethic and duty performance. Since arriving at the squadron in August 2009, he has excelled in his job as an aerospace medical technician. He also was selected as an instructor in Africa to teach an emergency medical skills course. As expected, he accomplished the mission above and beyond the level of his rank or experience. Airman Speakman is an exceptional young Airman and is truly deserving of this recognition."
-Staff Sgt. Randall Lederman, 1st SOMDOS Bravo Team NCO in charge
