Emblem Significance: Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The map of the world signifies support of the United States Air Force operations around the world. The dagger represents the primary organizations of the dental unit. The snake, dagger, and red cross represent the civilian and military personnel and their dedication to healing with dentistry.

The 1st Special Operations Dental Squadron (SODS) accomplishes global special operations taskings as an Air Force component member of US Special Operations Command. The unit promotes and maintains health of 8,000 active duty, reserve IMA, and civilian personnel, and 22,000 beneficiaries from 4 groups, 24 squadrons, 14 staff agencies, and 38 partner units. Personnel provide dental support to ensure the highest state of wartime readiness and oral health for AFSOC personnel and assigned partner units.
